Russian troops strike clothes market in Zaporizhzhia

The Central Clothes Market (Anholenko) in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, sustained significant damage in a Russian drone attack, and these photographs follow the aftermath through the day. A plume of smoke rises above the site as State Emergency Service rescuers roll out fire hoses, move through smoke-filled passageways and work amid burnt-out metal containers, one using a cut-off saw to force the deformed door of a shipping container. Later frames show flooded passageways once the main hotspots were extinguished, destroyed retail pavilions and rows of stalls reduced to burnt scrap metal, with entrepreneurs returning to salvage goods, some carried away in a blanket.
